Make a Bookmark With Rejected Art or Watercolor Practice
I’ve been learning watercolor and have accumulated a stack of blobs and colors on good watercolor paper. The images are kinda nice, but definitely not art.
Instead of throwing them away, I whipped up a bookmark template, stuck them in my Cricut, added some indigo shibori-dyed yard I had left over from my shibori workshops, and voila, now I have some really cute bookmarks to sell.

Step 1
If you have a Cricut, download the bookmark template zip file below. Upload the .svg file into your Cricut design space. Now, ‘Attach’ each each bookmark with it’s little hole.
If you don’t have a Cricut, download the bookmark template zip file and print out the pdf. Cut it out or trace it onto cardstock or poster board so you can. Us it as a template.
Step 2
If you have a cricut, place your watercolor practice/rejected art on you cutting pad and cut out the bookmark template. You can add your own sayings using a ‘cricut writing’ font.
If you don’t have a cricut, use an x-acto knife or paper cutter to cut out the template.
Step 3
Add some fringe using yarn. I used left over shibori indigo-dyed yarn!
And ta-da -- I have some new bookmarks to see in the shop!
