This workshop opportunity is for aspiring womxn directors and creative producers with the main purpose on learning as much as possible of all facets of the video process; conceptual development, research, creating, sequence shooting, following and giving direction, embrace marketing strategies and team leadership, for the success of many video projects.

The workshop will be leaded by Zoe Map award-winning director and video editor. attendances will learn:

  • Developing initial stories and concepts into production- feasible fully planned projects, hiring and managing small or large crews, managing actors, and ensuring top performances by all personnel to achieve film quality excellence.

  • Collaborating closely with Directors of Photography to deliver projects from the technical perspective.

  • Excelling as a Film Consultant, delivering key support in film projects development and execution.

TAKE 1 / Saturday, November 9th, 3:30 - 6:30pm | The first episode of this workshop will consist in learning how to customize an idea with a budget given by the client as well as learn how to pitch to a client. We will also get an understanding of what each person’s role is to create a video. These roles include casting and crew requirements plus locations. We will learn how to plan with a minimum crew and prepare for a shooting day.

TAKE 2 / Sunday, November 10th, 3:30 - 6:30pm | The second episode of this workshop will consist in learning how to translate a video idea from thought to paper by using writing treatments and a shot-list technique. We will go through different types of camera shots and the basics of camera movements as well as various techniques and camera equipment.

TAKE 3 / Saturday, November 16th, 3:30 - 6:30pm | The third episode of this workshop will consist in learning on how to pitch a video in a team environment. The students will actively collaborate in groups and create a video idea by using specific elements, slogan, and genres previously commissioned by teacher. Proposals and ideas will be discussed together after presented.

TAKE 4 / Sunday, November 17th, 3:30 - 6:30pm | The fourth episode of this workshop will consist in learning the post-production phase of a project. Our focus will be on organization of the project’s footage and understanding video format and editing software as Adobe Premiere.

INSTRUCTOR

Award Winning, Daniela “Zoe” Croci is an Italian filmmaker with a production company based in New York called Zoe Map Films. Zoe’s vision captures urban landscapes with a focus on documenting the human experience through the lens of art, music & culture. Her dreams and career pursuits as a film maker - since 2008 - brought her to New York City where she currently lives and produces music videos, commercials, documentaries and events. Also Zoe is the founder of Womxn To The Front a curatorial project with a major mission: to equalize the gender imbalance in art, music and film industry.
