Featured Artist: Steffi Lynn

Today's featured artist is Steffi Lynn. We asked Steffi a few questions about her practice as an artist working in public space.

Q: How did you start doing art in public space?⁠
A: I started doing art in public spaces when I got an opportunity to work for a music festival! It was actually one of my first big projects and it was mind blowing! I love the opportunity to create for tens and hundreds of thousands of people and possibly make an impact on someone! Whether it just brightens their day or inspires them in any way.⁠

Q: What is one piece of advice you'd like to give to businesses who want to commission art in public space?⁠
A: Simplicity sometimes can make a bigger impact! And to think universally. When creating art for a public space, we want to make sure we can appeal to as many people as possible, and make as big of an impact as we can with a strong mission. Sometimes if we do too much, the design could not get the message across.⁠

Q: What is one resource that has helped you with your art career? ⁠
A: To be honest, working digitally has changed the way I pitched to clients and being able to mock up materials and create renderings have been hugeeee!⁠
