Cocktail Recipe: San Martin

san-martin-cocktail-setup

I love gin, so I was excited to feature Green Hat gin in this San Martin cocktail! I first heard about Green Hat at a pop-up event at Union Market a year or so ago and I've been following them ever since. Their distillery is located in Ivy City, right next to my favorite screen printing shop, Open Studio

Alright, so ready to get started? I suggest putting your cocktail glass in the freezer at least 20 minutes before you want to serve so your glass will be chilled with a nice frosted look to it.

We were a little nervous to try a gin-based cocktail at our event because a lot of people seem to have very strong feelings about gin. However, this recipe was a total hit at our last cocktails+craft! Everyone loved it--even the non-gin lovers! I highly recommend it for a party if you want to try something new.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 ounces Green Hat gin
  • 1 1/2 ounces Capitoline vermouth
  • 1 teaspoon Chartreuse
  • fresh lemon peel

Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass (I used my cocktail shaker). Fill with ice. Stir well for 20 seconds. Drain into glass and garnish with a lemon peel.
