Hand Lettering Workshop Recap
We gathered together at Lake Anne to learn hand lettering with brush markers. We started with getting to know the brush and creating basic shapes, and then we moved to full letters.
It's always difficult to get started with hand lettering, but it's a little easier if you pick up your brush when transitioning from think strokes to thick strokes. We used a dark blue marker to make these transitions easier, so no one could see when we had picked up our pens. Some people got comfortable creating a stroke that transitions from thin to thick in one stroke right away, which is an advanced move!
We finished by writing a favorite quote. Most of them were Disney quotes! One participant even used her brush to draw a beautiful Simba under her quote.
